Our Favorite Song Lyrics and Songs!

*Says in loud voice* WELCOME, TO THIS POST. IT’S FINALLY COME DOWN TO THIS, ONLY TWO REMAIN. AND TWO, WILL WIN. Just kidding!!! I don’t even know where I was going with that. Go big or go home write? YES. ANYWAY, hello there fictional peoples of the . . . I almost said earth! Silly me! Of the Universe. That’s what I meant. Hello fictional peoples of the universe!

Hi! I, Marie, am this blue and Jo is the other blue. Just to be clear. ANYWAY! Today we’re going to be talking about our favorite song lyrics, and why we like them so much.

YAY!!! Happy dance!! Get it? Get it because, you dance, to songs. Yeah. Okay, I’m stupid. Anyway. Shall we start with songs . . . or should we dive right into random lyrics?

Let us start with . . . songs. Sound good-ish? Good. Yeah, I don’t wait for answers . . . ANYWAY! So. Jo and I both like “I Found You” by the Wanted.

Good. Because, if you didn’t, we’d have a major issue pending. Pending. PENDING. That’s such a weird word. I’m so distracted. Sorry peoples. I’m sick. ANYWAY. I like that song very much. It’s one of the only 17 that I actually listen to on my MP3. Repeatedly. So, since I need to get my thoughts sorted out, I’m going to place this burden on you, Marie, to go first. Tell us about this song. And your favorite lyric or whatever it’s called . . . is it called a line? I wouldn’t know, my brain isn’t working!

My brain power is limited, so I don’t know what it’s called. But. Anyway. "I Found You" by The Wanted. Go listen to it if you want. But I like it. Because . . . because of reasons! I can’t form thoughts right now. I will try though. So. It’s story time! Once upon a time, Jo and I were playing NAQG ((Nydia and Arie’s Question Game)) and she asked me what my favorite song lyrics were. She said some lyric from “I Found You”. Fast forward a few months and we were typing in our journals. And Jo told me to listen to “I Found You” because . . . it described how she felt about me, correct Jo? I’m not going to wait for an answer, sorry. And so I did that. And I was like, “This is a pretty good song.” And now it’s one of the few pop songs I listen to. And I really like it. And the more I listen to it, the more I love it. And the more I think about it, the more I realize how much it describes how I feel toward Jo. So yeah.

First off, to answer your question, yes. That’s exactly it. And second, I’m listening to the song right now. And, I’m just going on a blank, gaping, hole in my mind. I can’t form thoughts very well either. Or type, for that matter. Anyway. So, first of all, I stumbled upon this song on my MP3 player a while ago. I liked The Wanted, but I’d only heard one song, “Chasing the Sun”. So, I decided I’d just put the whole “Word of M=outh” album on it. And, I found this amazingness, you could even say . . . “I Found you, “I Found You”” Ha, I make myself laugh! So lame! Anyway, I love this song and I heard it and I immediately thought of Marie and yeah. And I have to say my favorite line/lyric/whatever it’s called is probably the chorus, when it says, “I found you, in the darkest hour. I found you in the pouring rain. I found you when I was on my knees, and your loven’ brought me back again. Found you in a river of pure emotion, I found you, my only truth. I found you, and the music played, I was lost . . . till I found you.” Yeah. The chorus to me, is like the climax of a story. But, songs aren’t stories. They’re poetry. ANYWAY! The climax is usually my favorite part . .  so, yeah.

I have a few favorite lines. I’m just going to call them lines for the sake of simplicity. So. Let’s go over said lines and why I like them. The line right before the chorus, “I was so lost until tonight, tonight.” Pretty simple. Explains itself. And let’s see. I like the chorus too. Favorite part of the whole song. My favorite line of the whole thing being, “I found you, my only truth.” Also self explanatory. Uhmm. I’m not going in order. But whatever. The line before the line before the chorus. “I’m moving to the beat of her heart.” That one. Comes right before the line that comes right before the chorus. But yeah. I like that one too. It’s pretty self explanatory, wouldn’t you say?

Yeah, I like all the same ones too! That song, is just, GOOD MESSAGE. And vibes. What song next? Will you start?

Sure. I guess I will. So. Uhmmmmm. “Maps” by Maroon 5. I’ll just make everything into links now. I love links. ANYWAY. I’m not sure why I like this song . . . or what lyrics I like from it. I just know that Jo introduced it to me. She introduced me to tons of songs. But let me think. What lyrics do I like from it? *thinks really hard* Well. I like lyrics that apply to me. And none of these really apply to me. I mean, it’s not like I know people who totally abandoned--Wait. Yes I did. There we go. “I was there for you in your darkest times, I was there for you in your darkest nights. But I wonder where were you? When I was at my worst, down on my knees. And you said you had my back. So I wonder where were you? When all the roads you took came back to me.” So basically like, the whole chorus plus some lines before it. Explaining the relevance to me would take a long story, and it is not story time. So. Jo. Your thoughts?

I LOVE that song. And, well, frankly (why do we say that? Did Frank invent it?) I just LOVE Maroon 5 a lot. It was like, my first favorite band. I remember the first song of theirs that I listened to was “Makes me Wonder”. I love that song. I love all their songs okay? My dad introduced me to them. He introduces me to a lot of things! ANYWAY!! That’s my favorite part too! And, to narrow it down, I really like the part where it says, “But I wonder where were you? When I was at my worst down on my knees, and you said you had my back,” And yeah. And I really like the beginning for some reason, “I miss the taste of a of a sweeter life, I miss the conversation,” I don’t know why. But I love the whole song. Adam Levine is just the best, nope, one of the best singers ever. So is Ryan Tedder. And so is Danny O’Donoghue. And others. So yeah. Have anything to add Marie? Because, I have another suggestion to talk about.

Uhmm. Can I just say that, why follow a map that leads back to this girl that he’s like, saying, “Where were you?” That’s the part I don’t get. But besides that, I really like that song. Okay. I’m done now.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Why? WHY?! I really want to know. Maybe . . . nah. That’s stupid. Anyway! I really like a lot of oldies. So . . . most of you wouldn’t know many of those. So, let’s say “Rather Be” By Clean Bandit. I really like the song. IT HAS A VIOLIN OR A FIDDLE OR SOMETHING OF THE SORT IN IT!!! And it’s like, this really awesome mix of classical and electronical kind of thing. So, I really like it. Did you know Onerepublic was classically trained? Okay, randomness aside, my favorite part of that song is also the chorus, where it says, “If you gave me a chance I would take it, it’s a shot in the dark but I’ll make it,” I just, I don’t know. I like that part a lot. Give me a second to think about this . . . HMMMM. Okay. I was going to say, I really like it because of the emotion and how powerful she (Jess Glynne) sounds in that song. But, then again, that’s why I like a lot of choruses. Choruses. Weird. Anyway, I just like that. Marie, what are your thoughts?

Well, first off, I really love that song and I don’t really know why. Uhm. I like the part where it says, “When I am with you there’s no place I’d rather be.” Uhmm. Yeah. That’s all I have to say. Jo pretty much summed it up. Any other songs Jo? Cuz I may have a suggestion or two.

OH! OH! OH! This song also remind me of you--Marie--so, that may also be the reason why. And it’s just such a, “Get up and dance!” Kind of song. And I love it. Anyway, I have a few suggestions as well. But, you go first.

Okay. So . . . let me gather my thoughts. "Love Runs Out" by OneRepublic. So. Let’s see. I really like this song. I heard it on the radio, and yeah. “I’ll be your light, your match, your burning sun. I’ll be the bright in the black that’s making you run. And we’ll feel alright, and we’ll feel alright ‘cause we worked it out, yeah we worked it out.” So like, the first . . . stanza? Is that what it’s called? But I like that part. I’m not too sure why.

I love that song too! But, I love all of OneRepublic’s songs too . . . so . . . I haven’t found one that I didn’t like yet. ANYWAY! That’s my favorite part too . . . so . . . I don’t know. Ryan Tedder is just amazing okay? Okay. Good. I like that song a lot. And you know what I just found out? That I sound so much better when I’m sick. Well, singing. But I do like how my voice kind of drops when I’m sick. It’s weird, I know. But, it’s true. What’s the next song you had in mind?

I don’t think I’ve ever sung when I’m sick. Maybe I’ll try . . . yeah, no. ANYWAY! Uhmmm. I really like “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse, but you already know that and I don’t really have any favorite lyrics. Well, let me go read over them. Okay. It mostly repeats the same things. But. “We only said goodbye with words, I died a hundred times. You go back to her, and I go back to . . . I go back to us.” I don’t know why I like that bit. But I do. *shrugs*

Let me just clarify, that I don’t love that song. I like it though. And, I don’t know. Something about it. . . just . . . I don’t know! But my favorite line in that song is, “My head high, my tears dry” I don’t even know why. Just, ‘cause. NO. Not ‘cause. BEcause. Because, because.

Yeah, that’s the extent of my suggestions. Unless we want to move into Adele. But before we do that, what were your songs?

So, this first song literally has . . . like, 40 words. That it repeats. And, it does swear . . . which makes me sad. But I do like it. It’s “Memories” by David Guetta. My favorite line is probably, “I just want to let it go for the night, that’ll be the best therapy for me.” Because, I don’t know. Maybe I want to do that . . . ? Let it go for the night. I don’t even know. But, it’s pretty much just, “All the crazy sh*t I did tonight, those will be the best memories. I just want to let it go for the night, that’ll be the best therapy for me. Hey, hey. Yeah, yeah.” And so on. It says another part too . . . um . . . “ it’s getting late, but I don’t mind” and it just repeats all of those. So yeah. It’s a dance song, so, I like it. So, I don’t know. Since it is David Guetta, it’s more on the electronica side.  Well, at least that’s how I classify it.

I’ve never heard of that song . . . So I have no thoughts. Any other songs before I go into Adele?

Yeah, I don’t think you’d like the song . . . but I don’t know. ANYWAY. I think I had one more . . . well, I have a lot, but I’ll do one. I could go on for hours and hours and hours . . . but, whatevs. What song was it?! OH! It was “Love Don’t Die” by The Fray. The  Fray, isn’t that was string does . . . ? Anyway (I use anyway, like, obsessively.), I really like that song. I think my favorite part is probably . . . the whole song? Okay, let’s narrow that down. First, “If I know one thing that’s true, it ain’t what you say it’s what you do. And you don’t say much, yeah that’s true. But I listen when you do. A thousand years go by, but love don’t die.” And then, the chorus, “But love don’t die, no matter where we go, or even if we don’t. And even if they try, they’ll never take my body from your side, love don’t die.” WAIT WAIT WAIT. I SKIPPED A PART. “If I know one thing that’s true, it’s that i’m never leaving you. Yeah you don’t say much, that’s true, but I lose it when you do. Don’t let them tell no lies,” Then it proceeds to the chorus. So . . . that’s pretty much the whole first . . . stanza . . . ? That’s what I’ll say. So, it’s like, “If I know one thing that’s true, it ain’t what you say it’s what you do. And you don’t say much, yeah that’s true. But I listen when you do. A thousand years go by, but love don’t die.If I know one thing that’s true, it’s that i’m never leaving you. Yeah you don’t say much, that’s true, but I lose it when you do. Don’t let them tell no lies,But love don’t die, no matter where we go, or even if we don’t. And even if they try, they’ll never take my body from your side, love don’t die.” So yeah. But, I love the whole song . . . so . . . Marie?

So I don’t know that song either. BUT NOW I CAN TALK ABOUT ADELE!!!! YAY!! Okay. First let me say, I pretty much love Adele as much as Jo loves OneRepublic, which is to say, a lot. The first song I heard by her was, "Rolling in the Deep". So I’m gonna start with that. I really like the part where it says, “Baby I have no story to be told, but I’ve heard one on you and I’m gonna make your head burn. Think of me in the depths of your despair, make a home down there as mine sure won’t be shared.” So yeah. That’s pretty much how I feel when people are jerks to me. Basically. I’m not in story time mode, so yeah. Anyway. Jo?

Dude, that was also the first song by Adele!!! WHAT THE HECK?! We just do a lot of the same things. And like the same things. And feel the same weird things. And feel the same “regular” things. ANYWAY! My favorite part is probably . . . the very first part, “There’s a fire, starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it’s bringing me out of the dark. Finally I can see you crystal clear. Go ahead and sell me out and I’ll lay your sh*t bare,” Of course, I say “Ship”. That’s what it sounds like. It could be ship, but, probably not. That doesn’t make sense.

Well. I could go on and on and on and on about Adele for years. But I won’t. So, any last songs Jo?

Um, no. Not really. Well, I don’t think you’ve heard any of them. ANYWAY. I guess that’s all we have. Unless you have more to add . . .

Nope. That’s all I have to say. So, I’ll post tomorrow and Jo will post on Tuesday. So yeah. Keep that in mind I guess. Pozegnanie!

Keep it real fictional peoples of the universe! But, don’t get in trouble, or killed . . . that’d be sad. ANYWAY. Bye!!!

~Jo and Marie
